    Macify and Avast

Avast! Antivirus has a function that checks every program that you try to run for its reputation before allowing the program to run on a system. It displays a dialog that looks like this:

Unfortunately, this process breaks the Macify executable and its internal processes. The first three or four times you run Macify, you may see this dialog along with some error messages. Some of the Macify processes may even hang.

The good news is that after three or four attempts, Avast detects that Macify is safe, and remembers it for the future. So after a few failures you should have no trouble running Macify alongside Avast.

Of course, if you don't want to mess with it at all you can Disable Avast Shields before running Macify.
